flowers, etc., part 9

Just south of Kirby is the junction of US-20 and Gebo Oil Field road. This is where we went today to continue our series on flowers. At this junction (see below) is a sign for Phoenix Production Company.

The creek which runs perpendicular to Gebo Oil Field road probably comes from the same underground source as that of Hot Springs State Park. Note the color of the algae (and the water is warm).




The road eventually leads to an oil field:

On our way back, we stopped to look at the sandstone and see if we could find wildflowers we haven't seen before.









Back on US-20, we stopped along the road to take these final shots.
