Boysen Reservoir, part 2

For today's excursion, we decided to do the same hike as described in Boysen Reservoir, part 1, but this time we turned north at the crest of the road, toward the canyon, instead of south toward the reservoir.

Of course, along the way we looked for flowers and plants we could photograph.

The butte seen in the center (below) is where our hike took us in part 1 of this series.

The electrical tower above is the same as the one below.

Before the cactus blossom (above) turns yellow, it is a rose color (below).

After reaching the peak of the hill with the electrical towers, we decided to continue down the other slop, still going north. This is one of the views, looking southeast toward the dam.

This is the view looking northeast.

At the end of the slop below, we had our picnic lunch.

We sat on the rocks in the foreground of the picture below.

The next three shots show the texture of the rocks on which we sat to enjoy our food and the scenery.

Instead of climbing up the hill once again, we decided to climb around it, as you can see below.

I took one final shot before getting back on the road and returning to the dam and our trip back home to Thermopolis.
