Hot Springs State Park: flooding of Bighorn River

On this Sunday afternoon, we decided to take a walk together with my wife's mother in her wheelchair. But we were soon confronted with this barrier (and the flooded river) which prevented us from going under the main entrance to the park.

As you can see, the flooding is minimal. It hasn't affected any businesses or home owners because in most places the river has yet to leave its normal boundaries.

So for our walk we reversed our course, and I took the next two shots along the way.

At the other end of the river walk we were surprised to see the flooded parking lot which is used by those who fish in the river or who launch their boats from here. Compare the dock in the upper left side of the shot below with the fourth photograph in the post called The Grounds of Hot Springs State Park.
