Hot Springs State Park: Bath House

Looking across the boardwalk and terraces, you can see the Bath House. It fulfills a requirement of the treaty made with Native Americans (see 21 August 2008 posting) which stipulated that all people should be able to enjoy the hot mineral water flowing from the springs free of charge.

There are indoor and outdoor pools which use only the spring mineral water and contain no added chemicals or municipal water. The temperature is kept at 104 degrees Fahrenheit.

Hot Springs State Park: Flower Gardens

The unusual beauty of the mineral springs which flow in their chosen courses is juxtaposed next to the planned beauty of the flower gardens.

The next two shots were taken in June. Beyond the fences you see below is the open range of the park where the wild flowers bloom in spring. The last photograph is one example of the many wild flowers which bloom on their own.
